Sometime last year, I decided that I didn't like my wall arrangement of photographs in our dining room. It was made up of around seven framed photographs -- ranging from 4x6 to 8x10 (and only one of those!).
So...first thing -- bigger pictures do tend to look better on the wall. So, I knew I wanted some larger framed pictures than I had.
Then, I was at Michael's and saw their $9.99 black 12x12 frames that are sold as "album frames" (you know -- record albums). They were 50% off, so I picked up seven of them. I then picked seven scrapbook layouts, and have them hanging in our dining room.
I get so many compliments on these! It's different than just having photographs framed, and it's very visually appealing. I will point out -- my layouts don't coordinate with one another. I just picked favorites that were fairly recent (within the past year) and made sure everyone in the family was represented.
Above the seven layouts (four in a horizontal line, and then three in a horizontal line above those), I have a long and narrow wooden sign that says "All Because Two People Fell In Love."
So...if you're a scrapbooker (or could at least do up a few layouts), this is a great way to frame something a little different than your average photograph.

Edited to add pictures of the arrangement, as per commenter request -- you may see now that the reason I didn't add them before was because it is a junkie spot in my house to take pictures of something covered with glass. LOL This arrangement is exactly opposite a sliding glass door. So, these are the best pictures I could get:

great idea! it'd be great to see a picture!
Great idea! If you are an avid scrap-booker, you can take pages out of the scrapbook and switch out the pictures often, that way people can see you scrapbooks without taking out the books! :-D
Oh. my. fantastic. idea. I love this tip so much! And the sign above it is just perfect! Thanks! I'm going to get to work tomorrow for our blank wall.
Angie, Angie, Angie!! What are you doing posting such a fantastic blog without any pictures?????
Come, come now girl! We need visuals.
I love the idea and I'm working on putting up some family pictures myself. Share some more!
This is great idea but I want to see it in action! Another tip I learned from HGTV for hanging pictures if that if you hang the pictures in the form of a lowercase e that it's easier on a person's eyes and looks really good. Forget lining things up straight!
This looks so nice, Angie! I saw those frames at Michaels the last time I was there---I thought they looked so cool, but I don't scrapbook, so.....Isn't it great when you get a gangbusters idea like that and it turns out so well? :)
I love that idea! I will have to search though some of my books and see what I can find. Thanks for sharing such a fun idea. Oh, and the visual really helped! :)
Oh my gracious! I LOVE this idea. Now, I'm not a scrapbooker, but I think I can figure this out! Thanks so much!
gorgeous!!

I have done this in our bedroom and have received more compliments. BUT...I didn't use the album frames - so great tip - I'll stop by there tomorrow and see if they have any! I love your wooden sign that says, "All because two people fell in love"...just precious.
I don't scrapbook any more, but I might take up this idea! You are really creative!
What a lovely idea!
Fantastic idea! Thanks for posting the picture, too. This is my first visit to your blog, but I sure do like it. That quote about parenting is great.
I love this idea! How fun. :) I may have to try it sometime. :)
I would have never thought to do anything like that. Thank you for sharing such an awesome idea.

I love framing scrapbook pages!
wow, that looks fabulous! I bought 3 of those awhile back and still haven't found a place to hang them yet. I love popping different layouts into them so that everyone can enjoy them and not the pages they're wedged between in the scrapbook!
my mom did something similarbut she used these copies of my greatgandmothers needlepoint. they printed them at a place www.canvaspress.com and she put them up higher on the wall aabove eyelevel. it is interesting to say the least. The frames she used whereon sale at hobby
She did it so she could display them but keep the originals from fading any more.
great tip
Inez
