It's Backwards Edition of Works for Me Wednesday again! So...it's my turn to ask a question!
I'm looking on recommendations for the best brand of mop or mopping system. I still think that hand washing is best, but one of my knees is bad, and it's killing it to hand wash our kitchen/laundry room/foyer/bathroom floors.
So, what is your favorite mop or mopping system (for a good cleaning)?
Any that you tried that you absolutely don't like?
Or, anything that is just good enough for regular cleanings, in between hand washing?
(It sounds so sad that I am 31 and have a "bad knee." Augh!)

My favorite mop is one of my old WFMW posts!
Best Mop Ever!
I'm still using the SAME one, with the same head. I bought an extra - one to wash and one to mop with.
We mop A LOT and this mop is easy enough got the kids to have a go with it, too. (Although they aren't as thorough as Mama... for some reason all of my children LOVE to mop. Must be because it involves water, LOL!)
Hey there, I also have a bad knee, and hip, wah, wah, I know, anyway this brings me to my favorite mopping system. Pour a cleaning solution all over the tile, and let my kids, 7 and 4 skate on old towels all over every corner of the kitchen and breakfast room. They get it clean I tell ya, cause they lurve to slip and slide. They have fun, i have a clean floor. It's a good thing........
I also posted a WFMW on my favorite mop, just like milehimama.
WFMW - Mopping the Floor
I noticed your double questions lol Good for you! I had a tough time coming up with one. Tomorrow I will have 20 questions, no doubt.
Have a great day!

I have hardwood or laminate for my floors and I love the Boma cleaning system. It works really well and doesn't leave streaks: http://www.bonakemi.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=50
=)
I'm a hand cleaner, usually, but I'll pull out my trusty Swiffer WetJet for in-between cleanings. It's very easy to use and easy to store.
I use a Libman wonder mop. I don't like things like Swiffers because that is just like washing the floor with a paper towel and it leaves a residue on my floor.
Hands and knees mopping is the only thing that works for me. BUT -- I purchased a pair of volleyball knee pads -- completely saved the day!
Like milehimama I use a microfiber mop that has little scrubby strips on it. I LOVE this mop! The microfiber pad is washable and I can use it for dry dusting or wet mopping. I also use it for cleaning walls! I use a vinegar/water mix in a small spray bottle for regular cleaning and an actual floor cleaner for deeper cleaning.
I used a Swiffer wetjet at one point, but the thought of creating all that extra waste for the landfills and it wasn't doing a great job anyway I started looking for alternatives.
Way to work the system, THAT works for me! I just plain old hot water and a mop. It really cleans the best and doesn't leave any sort of residue. I also used to only use vinegar and water on ceramic tile, no cleaners, ever.
I love the Method O-Mop!! The only waste is the bottle of cleaner (you could you whatever cleaner you want I love the Method one) and that is recyclable. Just mop and throw the microfiber cloth in the washer.
Non-toxic and you save money over like a Swiffer because you don't have to keep buying pads. Also I have fibromyalgia and the mop is lighter which is good for my flare days.
when I'm stressed:
I scrub with a sponge on my hands and knees.
when I'm short on time and the dogs have muddy paws:
Swiffer.
when the floor needs mopped on a regular basis:
not a sponge mop. they just track dirt. I like the one my husband got. It has a blue yarny head.
Any kind of swiffer-type sweeper/mop, and instead of their cloths, use microfiber rags (found in the dept.store's automotive section) for both dry sweeping and wet mopping. These babies pick up stuff you never even saw!
I love my Shark steam mop. I posted before and after pics on my blog http://frazzmom.blogspot.com/2008/04/in-which-things-get-steamy.html
i'm a swiffer girl.
I purchased a Shark Floor Steamer when it was on sale at Target. I had never even seen the infomericals for it until after we purchased it. It works very well and is easy, easy, easy on my back. Since it is just steam from water there are no chemicals. I have researched to see if steam really cleans and kills the germs. From my research it does. Our entire main floor is hardwood floors (sealed floors) and it is a huge pain to clean. So, having this system makes it much faster. Before this I tried many things and kept going back to hand cleaning.
Buy a Scooba! It is a robotic mop made by irobot. You can see a demo on their website. They are about $200, but all you have to do is push a button and it will mop your floors for you! It moves itself around the room while you just watch in awe. My husband, the gadget geek, bought one for me because I despise mopping. It is so completely frivolous, but I love it and my floors have never been cleaner! LOL
for everyday spills I like my clorox brand of the swiffer mop thing...I hate dirty sponge mop heads!
but for true cleaning we use an old yarn mop like what our great great grandmothers have been using for centuries....okay maybe not that long, but you get the idea.
Hiring my eleven year old to wash it works best for me.
